Elder Horror to Haunt Your Nightmares

There has been a noticeable resurgence of evil older women (or crones) in contemporary horror films, particularly within the found footage subgenre. My virtual lecture will look at two prominent examples of this trend: M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit (2015) and Adam Robitel’s The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014). Both films fall under the found footage category and feature elderly women as the subjects of their terrifying investigations.

To tease this week’s lecture, and to maybe haunt your nightmares, I’m sharing the trailers for both of these films below.
